Steve Sandfort

Senior Pastor

Pastor Steve leads our pastoral team. He founded The Edge Church and Coffeehouse in 2012 and was instrumental in merging The Edge with Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in 2019. His passion for community and ministry are evident in the way his door is always open. His love for meeting with friends and strangers over a cup of coffee is surpassed only by his love for Jesus and family. He is married to Becky and they have three grown children.

Linda Shannon

Office Administrator

Linda keeps The Edge offices running smoothly. She leads the office team and ensures that bulletins, newsletters, and property scheduling is done effectively. If you have a question about our facility usage or anything related to our calendar, Linda is the person to talk with. Linda was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for almost 30 plus years, and has been on The Edge staff since the merger.

Did you know? Linda's happy place is the mountains of West Virginia in October.

Joel Hardy

Director of Coffeehouse Operations

Joel has been with The Edge since 2013. He is the leader of our coffeehouse team and spends much of his day at our Lake Worth campus. His team includes other staff and volunteers that keep the coffeehouse equipped to be the touch of Jesus. He is married to Rachel and they have a dog named Sage.

Did you know? Joel is also the lead coffee roaster for Sojourn Roasting Company

Rochelle Bekkelund

Barista Supervisor

Rochelle joined our staff as Barista Supervisor in 2017. She assists Joel Hardy in making our coffeehouse ministry the very best expression of the touch of Jesus in the community. Her primary responsibility is managing and communicating with our barista team.

Rachel Hardy


Rachel has attended The Edge since its founding in 2012. She is a graduate of Texas Christian University and is a Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Practitioner. Her area of ministry at The Edge includes child care, kids church, youth and young adults, servant events, and Bible classes. Her desire in our discipleship ministry is to create experiences that teach us the truths of Scripture in easy to comprehend ways. Rachel also serves as a coffeehouse barista and as a volunteer with Child Evangelism Fellowship. She is married to Joel and they have a son named Elijah and a dog named Sage.
