Do We Need A Scorecard On Sin?
Blessings! Welcome to The Edge Sermon Series Podcast. This is the message from our Traditional service on Sunday September 13, 2026.
We are a scorekeeping people. We track wins and losses, dollars and cents, grades and statistics. And, we are often pretty good at keeping score when someone hurts us.
In Matthew 18, Peter asks Jesus: “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Peter wants to know how many times must I forgive before I can finally say, “Enough”?
Jesus’ answer is essentially: Stop keeping score.
Our debt of sin is greater than we could ever repay, but Jesus has paid it completely through His death and resurrection. We don’t forgive others to earn God’s forgiveness. We forgive because, in Christ, we have already been forgiven.
Please consider joining us in person next Sunday. Our traditional service is at 9:00AM and our contemporary service is at 11AM. We are located at 1313 SE Parkway in Azle TX. If you are unable to attend in person, we are thrilled that you can join us in viewing this service.
